Camping in Greece

 

Camping in Greece is a great and cheap way to discover the country. The campings are actually few in number. There are some islands and mainland destinations with campings, but not all islands have organized camping places. For example, Halkidiki, Neos Panteleimon beach in Pieria, Epidaurus in Peloponnese, Crete, Naxos, Paros and Amorgos are popular camping destinations. Greece campings have many facilities for their guests, from public bathrooms to common kitchens, restaurants, bars, mini-market and electricity. The majority of campings in Greece are located right on the beach, only few steps from the sea. Guests put their tents under tall trees that offer shade in hot summer days. Apart from room for tents and caravans, many resorts for camping in Greece also rent bungalows with electricity, private bathroom and nice patio under natural shade. These bungalows in campings are usually cheaper than bungalows in resorts.
